Our Craftsmanship

– or how a little treasure comes to life –

When an exceptional gemstone is found,

Our stone selection ranges from meteorites and fossils to moonstones and raw stones or crystals with water inclusions.

We specifically look for striking gemstones to create something extraordinary that can’t be found anywhere else.

a natural, harmonious design arises.

The charisma of a stone ultimately decides which design harmonises best with it. A hand-cut, uncalibrated stone simply gives you a different feeling!

Exalted by the hands and expertise of the artisans,

Our team members come from different countries and very diverse backgrounds. It includes a silversmith from Bali and an opal prospector from Australia, as well as stone cutters from India, other artisans, and friends. We are a multitude of people, travellers, seekers, artisans, and artists looking for ways to make life more creative and beautiful.

a unique, high-quality piece is born,

For us, direct cooperation with the artisans without intermediaries also means we can prevent unfair pricing. We prefer to pay them more, knowing that we’re receiving something unique.

We honour the value of real craftsmanship and want to do our part to preserve it for the next generations. This principle chimes with our understanding of sustainability and inspires the quality of the work.

brought to you with respect for nature and everyone involved.

“Ethical” means more than a label to us – it is, indeed, a way of living. To us, an ethical way of living means that we treat the planet and all human beings with respect, in the same way we would like to be treated.

This is the cornerstone of all our creative, production, and business processes, from the raw materials to the presentation of our products in retail spaces.

We call our production ethical because we firmly stand behind it and vouch for its quality. Although we cannot trace every stone back to its origins, we supervise the production routes and provenances as closely as possible. Because we cannot yet import Fairtrade silver, we cover the demand for it using recycled silver and gold. This ensures that many of our products are also upcycled.

Other Treasures

Handcrafted objects are the second mainstay of Joya Jewels. We focus on the original, the beautiful, and the extraordinary.

For example, we have our Buddha figures carved out of wood in Bali – because that’s where the best Buddha carvers in the world reside. They sculpt faces with such silence and beauty which reflect the inner state of a buddha

Then, we take a selection of the Buddhas to a traditional landscape painter, who paints them for us. In the field of handicrafts, we are always looking for the unusual that will bring you joy in your everyday life.
